W.H.Y. PROVIDES LIL' WHEELS

Women Helping Youth (W.H.Y.) was created in 2006 by Jill Weintraub, Moira Tenzer, and Debbie Schermer. This women’s philanthropic organization was established to help children in need in the greater Los Angeles area. Moira and Jill joined forces to help local organizations who were making a difference in the lives of children in Los Angeles. They found many of their friends wanted to be more involved but didn’t know how so they created W.H.Y. Debbie jumped on board as Secretary/Treasurer and secured the organization’s non-profit status.

Each member of W.H.Y. donates $1,000 annually and through a grant outreach project, several recipients are selected. Anne Banning was one of the three lucky recipients for 2007. This remarkable group of women donated $22,677 which covers the cost of the van that was purchased to re-supply OSB Wheels and pick-up stock for the buyers. Lil’ Wheels has allowed Wheels to serve an ever increasing number of children by providing a way to bring extra inventory to a Wheels location.
